Sitting in a peaceful landscape beside the famous Baia dei Turchi, Masseria Mongiò dell'Elefante is a country hotel with 12 suites and every luxury. Part of the large estate of the Mongiò family, the hotel has been sympathetically created from some old rural buildings, using as much as possible of the original fabric and materials.

The hotel is surrounded by gardens and terraces as well as a large swimming pool with sunshades and loungers, so there is a quite niche for everyone. It's only a 250m between fields and in the shade of trees to reach the sandy beach and crystal clear water of the nearby bay.

The restaurant serves typical dishes in the culinary tradition of the Salento region, prepared in an innovative and elegant manner. Ingredients come from the local area including fresh fish, fruit and vegetables and the cellar offers a fine selection of Apulian wines.

The Wellness Centre and Spa at Masseria Mongiò is exclusively for hotel guests, providing a large spa bath, Turkish bath, sauna, multi-sensory shower and herbal tea corner. Guests can also book a massage in their room or on the terrace where there is a dramatic view of the sea.

Every one of the 12 suites is different, but similar in style and materials. Local materials have been used throughout, such as Lecce stone and reclaimed timber. The suites are all attractively decorated with an independent entrance, air conditioning, 2 TV sets, minibar, safe, free internet and Wi-fi. Each suite has a terrace or a private garden and they all offer splendid and varied views of the woods, vineyards, cultivated fields and glimpses of the blue sea in the distance.

Masseria Mongiò is a peaceful location where guests can explore footpaths, woods, lakes, caves and the coastline on foot, on a bike (free bike hire) or in a car. The centre of Otranto is only 6km away.
