BEST doesn't always require lots of "bells and whistles". Sometimes BEST means simple things well done. That's the case at Meadowview Guest House. There is a warm and friendly welcome awaiting at this traditional village house in the centre of Wighton, a picturesque village just three miles from Wells-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk coast.

The Breakfast room is a warm, welcoming room and all of the cooking is done before your eyes on the traditional Aga. There's an excellent full English breakfast, various other cooked options like Eggs Benedict or kippers, or plenty of vegetarian choices too.

At the back of the house is a large garden facing onto the meadows that give the guest house it's name. There is a terrace where guests can simply relax, perhaps with a glass of wine or maybe a cream tea. Alongside the lawn is the hot tub, another place to relax and let the bubbles soothe away the aches and stresses of life. And if the weather is uncooperative there is a guest lounge with lots of space, Sky TV and a selection of books and magazines.

All the rooms and suites have been recently decorated with lovely colours and furnishings. The suites especially have lots of space, and all rooms have tea and coffee-making, a minibar, complimentary bottled water, TV and DVD and an en-suite bathroom.

Wighton is an ideal position for visiting all the attractions of North Norfolk: Wells-next-the-Sea (including boat trips to see the seals), Sandringham, Holkham Hall, numerous beaches and nature reserves, Walsingham.
