Right in the heart of the hotel is the Oyster Bar and Mezzanine. Designed by Sally O’Loughlin, the Oyster Bar's chic décor, deep comfy sofas and luxurious armchairs creates the perfect place to meet for a coffee, enjoy traditional afternoon tea, or simply relax with a glass of wine and a newspaper. For a warm, cosy home from home feel, settle down in the Library. Designed with Ralph Lauren influences it has patio doors leading to a private terrace.

At the top of the hotel is the Rooftop Lounge and Playground. The elegant rooms are unique within the city centre and lead out to the south-facing Playground terrace.

As well as breakfast, the kitchen serves up some novel choices of afternoon tea. There's the traditional kind of course, served on a three tier stand featuring light, crusty scones & rich clotted cream, accompanied by a variety of homemade cakes & pastries.If you like, add in a glass of champagne for an additional touch of decadence. Gentleman's afternoon tea features a selection of wholesome canapé-style bites topped off with a bespoke dessert menu of cheese and crackers and homemade sweet treats. Great John Street also has their own take on brunch. Enjoy Mini Eggs Benedict, Mini French Toast, Mini Pancakes, Mini Strawberry Smoothie, Mini Crispy Bacon Muffins.  All served alongside (you guessed it!) an unlimited assortment of Newby Tea.

There are fourteen Comfy Duplex Rooms situated on the first and second floors of the hotel. Each room is individually designed and many retain original features such as exposed steel beams, brickwork and wooden floors that you would expect to find in a building of this period.

Next up are the Luxe Junior Suites. These are very individual and vary in style from single level to duplex. Each is unique and lavish with beautiful rich colour schemes and luxurious fabrics and textures alongside many original features.

The four Eclectic Suites are each 50-60 sqm in size. They are designed with an emphasis on style and comfort using antique crystal chandeliers, sumptuous fabrics and flamboyant colour schemes. Amongst the many original features are the huge windows flooding in an abundance of natural light.

Most glamorous of all are the two Opus Suites occupying the huge space of past classrooms to great effect and having a distinct New York loft feel. All have the original windows of the old school, flooding in an abundance of natural light.
