Natura Cabana is a beachfront hideaway hotel just 3 miles  from the heart of lively Cabarete on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. The unique architecture and eclectic decor is designed to promote comfort and tranquility. Just like the name implies, nature is the essence of the concept, so the hotel, spa and  restaurants gently co-exist with the lush surroundings.

Karaya Restaurant is the hotel’s day restaurant, starting off with breakfast on the seashore. The buffet offers freshly baked whole-grain bread, homemade tropical fruit marmalades, homemade granola, yogurt, a variety of fresh local fruits and fresh fruit juice. There are eggs any style, pancakes or waffles; and also have a few typical Dominican morning dishes like “mangú” with fried cheese. Lunch ranges from big, hearty salads, gourmet sandwiches or burgers with hand-cut fries to curries or pasta dishes. Karaya is also the hotel beach bar, serving beer, wine, cocktails, coffee and soft drinks.

In the evening, the gastronomic life of Natura Cabana turns to the Natura restaurant. It provides a fusion of fresh tropical local ingredients combined with Indian, Mediterranean, and Asian flavours. Signature dishes include tuna in a pistachio sauce over carrot purée and homemade ravioli filled with cashews and dates with a sun-dried tomato pesto. (My mouth is watering already!)

The artfully designed Attabeyra Spa, named after the water god of the Taino Indians, is the focus for luxurious massage, soothing facial treatments or ultra-regenerative body rituals to melt away stress and reinvigorate the mind. The spa menu offers everything you might expect, but also ventures into the unexpected and exotic. The open-air yoga temple is a place where guests can practice different types of yoga and join in fitness and pilates classes. Guests are welcome to follow the Buddha Path, a garden walk through an area that combines produce for the kitchens with humming birds, lizards and natural seating areas where strollers can pause a while and reflect on the beauty around them.

Each of the twelve bungalows (one bedroom, two bedroom, or three) stands out for its individual architecture and décor. Designs include traditional palm thatched roofs and richly decorated interiors using wood, shells, and different stones. All of the bungalows are open-air so instead of air-conditioning, the bungalows are cooled by the fresh ocean breeze and are serenaded by the calming sound of the sea. They all have big beds, organic toiletries, ceiling fans, wi-fi and space in abundance.
