A Unique Concept on Lanzarote
The Eco Village Finca de Arrieta is such a brilliant idea that we wonder why it hasn't been copied elsewhere. At the heart of Finca de Arrieta, there are the yurts. Yes, they are tents, but tents like no other! And each one stands in its own private garden space with sea or mountain views, a south-facing terrace and separate open-air kitchen and a bathroom. Another restoration project was the Garden Cottage, styled to create a cosy cottage feel using wood and local stone flooring. The contemporary design includes split level floor, open plan living room, kitchen area and bedroom. There is an extra large king size double bed in the bedroom area and a double sofa bed for extra guests if needed in the lounge area.
The 35 sq metre, environmentally friendly wood and stone Eco Lodge is set among the beautiful gardens of the finca. Using local materials, the contemporary and spacious interior offers ideal self-catering accommodation. There are steps down to the private gated terrace and the patio door entrance leads into the open-plan living room and fully fitted kitchen that comes complete with a granite topped indoor/out door breakfast bar. The separate bedroom has a king-size bed and plenty of storage, with an ensuite shower room and toilet. The Eco Barn can comfortably sleep four guests (plus cot or sofa bed). Lovingly restored and refurbished to a very high standard using local materials wherever possible, this traditional Canarian barn has been converted into a unique holiday accommodation with wood and marble flooring, and traditional stone walls. The barn comprises of 90m2 of interior floor space on one level and features wonderful mountain views. The large lounge with double patio doors is light and airy with seating for six guests.

The shared pool area boasts a 10 metre solar-heated pool sanitised without chlorine, sea and mountain views and a Polynesian style day bed. There is also a large covered area where there is a second kitchen, further dining tables for 20+ guests and authentic Moroccan floor seating. This area is spacious and has a hard wood floor.
The whole finca is set in mature, exotic gardens with fruit trees and bushes such as mango, banana, guava and lime. There is an honesty shop on-site for supplies and guests are free to pick any of the organic produce and may also visit the hen house to collect fresh eggs. Young guests are not forgotten and have their own children's play area which includes a play park, sunken trampoline, baby playroom, wooden pirate boat and the resident donkey "Mollie".
The Finca runs entirely on wind and solar power and is a unique example of sustainable living. It possesses one of the largest and most efficient renewable energy systems in Lanzarote giving guests the opportunity to experience living with the latest renewable energy technology.
