Dating right back to 1535 Maesmawr Hall Hotel is an exceptional Grade II listed country house. From the minute you turn into the long driveway and glimpse the half-timbered house that is Maesmawr Hall Hotel you know you are somewhere special. This Mid-Wales hotel has a rich history and the original features can be seen throughout the house including the stylish restaurant, cosy bar and panelled meeting room.

Set amongst the glorious Powys countryside, five miles from Newtown, it’s the ideal base from which to explore Mid-Wales and its many attractions; while the stunning coastline of Cardigan Bay is a mere 50 minutes away.

Most bedrooms are within the main house with a few others located in the Coach House just across the front lawn. Full of character, they also have modern facilities such as wifi internet access, flat-screen TVs and tea and coffee-making facilities. Most of them look out over the gardens and breathtaking countryside beyond.

The Garden Restaurant offers intimate dining and as the name suggests has magnificent views of the grounds through the large Victorian bay window. Capturing the feel of yesteryear with crisp linen table cloths and the original features of the house, the restaurant is complemented with touches of modernity like the vibrant colour of the napkins or the fine crystal glassware. Whether you are having breakfast, lunch or dinner there is a menu to suit all tastes, from a light bar snack through to a full three or four-course dinner. Before dining, there's an ideal opportunity to have a drink in the lounge bar, or on a fine day, out on the garden terrace.

Mid-Wales is packed full of activities and sights to see. There are the mountains of Snowdonia, the breath-taking heritage coastline and a host of attractions from narrow-gauge railways to forest walks and cascading waterfalls. There are golf courses nearby, plus clay-pigeon shooting, motor sports, white-water rafting, lakes and beaches and even honey ice-cream to be devoured.
