Lyzzick Hall is a family-run country house hotel and restaurant near Keswick in The Lake District National Park. Built on the lower slopes of Skiddaw, England’s third highest mountain, there are the most breathtaking views all around, including Grisedale Pike, Catbells, Barrow and the Borrowdale valley.

Lyzzick Hall is a hotel for all seasons. In the winter you can come back from an invigorating walk or a day of sight-seeing to relax with a pot of tea and homemade biscuits in front of a crackling log fire. In summer you can enjoy the extensive landscaped gardens or indulge in a long cool drink in the Orangery. Wherever you choose to sit, the amazing views will be there before you. Even the heated indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna benefit from the views.

The restaurant is beautifully furnished with gleaming cutlery, crisp white linen napkins and candles. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner)is a combination of traditional and contemporary British food, often with an international twist. The chefs use local ingredients wherever possible, game from Cartmel, a selection of Cumbrian cheeses and herbs from the hotel's own garden. The wine list is a labour of love and devoted mainly to Spanish and Portuguese wines, reflecting the heritage of the owner, Alfredo.

All the bedrooms feature a digital flat-screen television with radio stations and a wide variety of channels, direct dial telephones, hair dryers and tea, coffee and biscuit trays. Each one has a view of the beautiful, private landscaped gardens and most look towards the stunning fells. For a special occasion or an extra touch of luxury there are the even more spacious Superior rooms. Each is named after the fell view from its window, or choose The Garden Room with its own private terrace and parking area, overlooking the gardens and Derwent valley.

Lyzzick Hall is a perfect base for a walking, sight-seeing or relaxing break. Skiddaw stands above and Bassenthwaite Lake below. The Derwent Pencil Museum is just a couple of miles away as well as a wildlife park and the Lakes Distillery. Just a litlte further afield are iconic Lake District sights and locations such as Ullswater, Buttermere and the Striding Edge of Helvellyn.
