In a simple yet elegant setting where old and contemporary live together in perfect harmony, Le Clos Des Aspes is a traditional country house in the Catalan corner of France. This charming bed-and-breakfast (or maison d’hôtes) offers spacious and comfortable rooms set among vineyards and fields.

The Mediterranean gardens offer space in abundance and views of the Pic du Canigou and the Albères mountains. The large swimming pool (May - October) has a surrounding terrace with sunbeds and parasols, and there is a summer kitchen and pergola to make time by the pool an all-day affair.

A gourmet continental breakfast is served daily either in the big living room or on the terrace. Then occasionally in summer guests are welcomed to a family evening meal around the big table, with fresh local produce and a selection of local wines. The living room also provides a large relaxing space to sit and read, or chat with new-found friends.

The bedrooms are super-spacious and decorated in a charming style that mixes old and modern materials in a perfect blend. Each one provides an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, a king-size bed, television, wi-fi and a hairdryer. There is a family suite with two bedrooms, one of those having twin beds.

This Catalan corner of Europe offers tourist opportunities beyond compare. For sports lovers there is golf, horse-riding, hiking, bike routes, canoeing, rafting, canyoning and more. The coast is only 10km away with a choice of long sandy beaches or a more rugged rocky coastline. For a more cerebral holiday there are numerous festivals, museums, Roman sites, art galleries and ancient abbeys.
